Jeff Steley is a seasoned law enforcement professional and expert witness with a distinguished career spanning decades in policing and international security operations. A former police officer, he brings extensive frontline investigative experience, complemented by his work as a contractor in the Middle East, where he operated in complex, high-risk environments. 

Mr. Steley is recognized as a court-qualified expert in firearms-related offenses, including use, identification, and ballistics analysis, as well as drug offenses and trafficking investigations. Notably, he was Canada’s first certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), a distinction that underscores his specialized knowledge in drug impairment and narcotics enforcement. 

He has provided expert testimony in courts across both Canada and the United States, delivering clear, objective, and authoritative opinions that assist judges and juries in understanding complex technical evidence.
